Overview
The REAL Communication workshop is designed to allow individuals to understand the intricacies that occur between individuals. This interactive experiential workshop will explore verbal and non-verbal communication through the medium of game-play and help individuals to understand these interactions in the context of areas such as Persuasion, Influence and Conflict.
Example REAL Activities:
1.) Repeat After Me - Teams must work together to build a replica of a model that is hidden from view whilst identifying if anyone is working against the status quo.
Key Skills: Non-verbal communication signals, persuasion, handling conflict, how communication can be affected by preconceptions
2.) Leapfrog - The team must rearrange itself on a set of tiles, without breaking any of the rules.
Key Skills: Information flow within a hierarchical organisation, integration of different ideas
3.) REAL Restraints - Teams must work together to release their colleagues from the circle of rope. Delegates will learn to cooperate, communicate and think creatively in this tangled situation.
Key Skills: Learning and teaching of new skills, dealing with conflicting approaches
4.) Paper Perceptions - A paper-folding exercise which demonstrates the importance of two-way communication.
